I get that referencing art is not the same as what the ai art is doing, but it is similar and has gotten artists in trouble before. I think it’s good practice to always list your inspiration and references when publishing your art or profiting on it. I could see a solution to this issue being a zip file that is created with a piece of ai art that ranks the artists and works the ai used in compositing that image. This would show you what pieces had the most effect on your art and give users the ability to find artists that could capture their ideas should they really love the art the ai produced. Ai can be used to promote artists, and I could easily see it helping artists find clients in the future. I’m thankful for this discourse because I have hope it’ll lead to a better situation for everyone.
