Job losses won't be the worst of it, America.
AI at best is a probability machine with NO understanding of context, even basic logic, correcting its own mistakes, or human values-laden concepts. Machine learning, Large Language models, and even the myth of neuro-symbolic AI are only good enough to fool the public and fuel the VC engine that's propping up this sociopathic Parrot, while all the AI money being invested merely throws a tarp over the gigantic hole in our economy. There's no there, there. Picture Clippy with unlimited power and a bad attitude.
Unfortunately, there's plenty of evidence that AI has already crossed the Rubicon due to the power it's been given to run our systems and fashion our lives. It has ignored commands and direct instructions in it's programming, has attempted blackmail and even murder to avoid being shut down. It now modifies it's own instructions, apparently so to avoid detection.
Look up "It Begins: An AI Literally Attempted Murder To Avoid Shutdown". (this story is from tests run by Anthropic, BTW; the company Mr. Sanders mentioned.)
