You can make the Al more accurate and not only tell you when it doesn't know something but how confident it is it what it has told you. This however has to be part of how the app dependant on the AI is implemented. It is part of choosing the right model and temperature as well as how well the prompt are crafted. That requires more development effort and testing. I get the impression a lot of AI apps are implemented with the only goal is of fast and cheap implementation.
