The same companies that say they are replacing people with robots are increasing the overseas visas they are sponsoring with the state department. They are using AI as a smoke screen and replacing people with cheaper people, not robots. As for universal income, if a politician went on TV Monday morning and said we will do this and fund it based on seizing the assets of say Russian oligarchs, you can bet that by Friday that same politician would have died of a suspicious heart attack or fell from a high window.
