What you're describing at the end is wealth inequality. Copyrights and patents were created by the wealthy rent-seekers, not to promote creation and innovation, but to extract more value out of already created and invented works. People were inventing and creating things long before the intellectual monopolies were granted by the state.
In my humble opinion, a wealth cap is required to reign in the wealthy's influence over politics. Say $100 million. If you accumulate more, you must distribute it. This will be a net benefit to society, especially in the AI future where the super rich stand to widen the inequality gap even further.
