I’ve been a licensed psychologist for many years, and I’m trying not to be naiive regarding my line of work. I think a large percentage of the population might turn to an AI for help, but not large enough to make my profession totally disappear. Or at least I hope not. And if millions or even billions of people have their whole lives turned over because of AI, maybe AI is not the first place they go looking for help with their mental health issues. But I don’t know.
