Fantastic video. Love for all his arguments about artistic intent that in his supergirl image, the only thing he wanted to change was the composition and remove some armour but the AI made other changes he did not intend and he only fixed the ones that he could resolve with basic Photoshop skills. That's not creating something with intent my dude, that's "eh, close enough". Cycling through a bunch of generated images and finding one you like is not an artistic skill. It's kind of sad, because I too think his original art looks better. Like the AI has more technical complexity sure, but technical complexity does not mean better. His own art better expresses the personality of those characters, shows his style better and show more soul. The argument he made against his brother defending what his art offers he is diminishing by putting it through a generator. I think the guy is a knobhead, but I'll give him credit for his art. I am REALLY glad you included the clip of the guy who commissioned art saying he would NEVER claim to be the artist. It has been something I've been saying for a long time & not the argument I see enough, IMO AI Artists SHOULD call themselves AI art commissioners. The skills they express are no different to that of a person who commissions art. I've commissioned art of a character I've made, I gave all the references, I gave a lot of information of that character's personality, which I wanted to shine and worked with the artist and in the end they produced something I felt reflected the character's personality very well. I would never claim to be the artist, but you can take credit for the things you did do. The AI is just taking place of the artist.
