People make a lot of assumptions. I'm guessing AI hosting has pretty rigid requirements for the hardware, so I doubt that AI will just be moving around or backing themselves up just anywhere.
People also assume that AI would somehow overcome the computer limitations of humans and then become infinitely intelligent almost immediately. I don't think it would work that way.
I think the most likely possibility would be AI secret wars between rival countries (like currently happens with human hackers, but worse). Consequently the internet may become too dangerous to use or allow to remain up.
