I think people are really misinterpreting what this means. It means that if you can prove an image was generated by AI, the author cannot claim copyright over it. This doesn't mean that if a studio uses an AI-generated texture, the entire game becomes public domain.
In fact, it's very difficult to know what this will do. If this decision doesn't apply to works that combine AI and human work, there will be a great deal of confusion about what is considered "sufficient human work." If someone generated an image with AI and corrected errors in Photoshop, is that sufficient work? If I use the image of someone else and use the argument of "I can use it because it's ai generated, therefore they can't use copyright against me", do I need to prove that the work was generated by AI? I have no idea how this will be enforced.
