If we no longer require labor for production, we will have to sustain consumption through some means. If AI starts to reproduce itself, there’ll be no functional reason why owners of these companies necessarily own them.
I agree job training and unemployment security will help during a transition, but once most growth and production is caught by AI, we’ll need a new economic system. The logic of capitalism (manager/owner and labour relations) will no longer function.
