I'm glad you talked about the photography example, but I'm still looking for a better argument as to why photography should be considered art while AI image gen shouldn't be. Photography takes a single button press to make an image (you can spend more time with focus or exposure or whatever but you can customize AI gen more as well). Photography captures things that you didn't create yet claim as part of your "artwork": people's likenesses, clothing that you didn't design, buildings and cars that you didn't design or construct, gardens that you didn't landscape. I can't see how "stealing" all that work and claiming it as your own with a single button press is fine, while AI is bad.
