First of all, I am disabled from the birth, I can’t walk and I can’t take care of myself. All my life I don’t have any personal space and I have to struggle fighting to gain some tiny bits of independence. Creativity is one thing where I don’t need any help from others. I can make what I want with my own hands — which I can’t do with almost everything else in my life. And the idea that AI will help disabled people express themselves seems ridiculous to me. It won’t at all. I tried it once, tried to generate my character. But I didn’t get the result I wanted. He just wasn’t what I imagined in my head, he was some average guy. And I don’t need him to be that way, I need exactly MY character. Unique and beautiful in his own way. The one and only! AI can’t help me to reach my dream of creating my own unique characters and is taking it from me instead. Going further, if you want a certain result you need some time to learn how to write prompts for AI. Why don’t spend it on actual skills and creating your OWN art? When there’s will there’s way, and you even can learn how to draw without hands holding pencil in your feet or mouth. And even if you learn how to write prompts that will not be something you did — that will be compilation of thousands of images in the internet. But I have my own images in my head! Not to mention the fact that good AI costs a lot of money and disabled person is better to spend these on food and medicine. If someone really wants to improve disabled people’s lives with the help of artificial intelligence — they better invest in studying the prosthetics, exoskeletons, etc. Give us back or give us the opportunity to create INDEPENDENTLY.
