i don't know how they can't see how ridiculous the argument they're making is. surely they know. generative AI is not an accessibility tool. people who don't have creative skills can still create, just not at as high of a level as someone who is—but it's something that can be worked upon. as both an artist and a writer, nanowrimo's take is so insane to me, and also basically the take of every AI-art-loving techbro on twitter ever, just taken to a new extreme. crazy.
