I think a lot of people fail to understand that AI as it is now is not actually artificial intelligence, it's just pattern recognition software. It does not think for itself.
When it generates an image, video, or text, it is just hashing together parts of language and graphics commonly paired together. When you ask ChatGPT a question, it doesn't think about an answer. It responds with whatever in its data set is the most common response.
If you won't take it from an artist, take it from a programmer. AI cannot actually think or innovate, so it cannot create, so it cannot make art.
