I'm a final year in CS at a solid university. My focus is in ML. This has made me realise my over-reliance on AI for writing code. I'm going to absolutely write each line myself and change my whole mindset for using AI as a tool for learning rather than for doing the thinking and execution. I will need to relearn it but stuff like memory management and terminal commands honestly don't seem like something that critical to know in practise. It's fundamental but not knowing that stuff won't make you any worse at the actual python coding. I do, however, need to learn to properly use classes. I don't think I'm fucked, but I have to stop my reliance on AI for coding and make sure I'm learning to do everything myself.
