While ChatGpt doesn’t seem to recognize it, I actually think this isn’t a paradox at all. Yes in reality between your hands there is an infinite number of halfpoints. That however is not a problem. It might seem intuitive to think that you cannot cross an infinite number of halfpoints because they are infinite but you can, when you consider the fact that every single halfpoint (even though there’s an infinite number of them) is within these 50cm between your hands. So by moving 50cm you have crossed every single halfpoint. In the mathematical example of halving the distance over and over, the reason why you will never touch your hand isn’t because of the infinite number of halfpoints but because you are infinitely slowing down. Imagine you cross one halfpoint per second. At first you move at 25cm per second, then 12,5cm and so on. You are infinitely slowing down and at some point you will be moving at a billionth of a nanometer per second. However if you maintain any constant speed (or don’t slow down as much) You will eventually cross a total distance of 50cm, therefore crossing the infinite amount of halfpoints which are all in between 0 and 50 cm.
