I am not that pessimistic. When the junior position is replaced, it means everyone starts from a senior level job. The old day senior level will become the entrance level. New staffs don’t need to learn the old day junior work. It’s possible but just needs time to adapt. Don’t underestimate human brains. There are still things that are very hard to AI but not that hard for human. So, AI might create some severe environment to one generation (5 years a generation) which doesn’t have enough time to adapt to the new AI situation. However, I think newer generation will adapt to it. Remember, how to use AI tools to do tasks is also a skill. Actually, I am more worried for the current senior level. If they couldn’t adapt to AI tools better than the young people who are cheaper, they would be replaced. However, for the long run, I am even more optimistic as I think as we need less people and less experiences to finish a job, building up your own business will become cheaper and easier, which means many of us don’t need to rely on the resources offered by the big companies to build up your dream.
