So, basic economics here... this trend advances; as we all know it will; eventually replacing all labor. If everyone is replaced and unemployed, who buys the products these robots produce? This isn't a hard question to arrive at, and the answer is not profit, because the ends are ultimately unprofitable, being that the consumer base is rendered insolvent. So therefore, knowing full-well that profit isn't the real long-term motivator here, what is the actual end goal of automation? Hate to break it to you, but they're not replacing you with the intention of keeping you around.
