I don't trust anyone who has anything to gain from AI to tell me how its going to replace me. If I'm not here....who would my boss yell at when things aren't working out for him?
There's been promise of this since CHATGPT hit the mainstream. Since then a lot of companies have had to eat humble pie and re-hire the employees that let go. The AI hype is built around LLM's, and so far they don't get thing right. You're talking about replacing industries that require a zero percent failure rate. And pretty soon, investors are going to start pulling their money when they don't see a return on investment. And you'll see most of these data centres waste away and pollute the environment.
