At some point the differentiation between humans and machines will be roughly the same as saying there's a difference(or no difference) between a human in real life and a human on a computer screen. Either that or the feelings that are elicited when talking about a machine being a machine, but highly capable, will have shifted into something else. Probably how you treat a child differently than an adult until it grows up. We will treat ai like ai until either we as a species grow up or ai grows up and proves that we were either wrong in the past or suddenly wrong in the future.
