Dude, I can't believe anyone willingly uses ring cameras, let alone pays for the privilege of being spied upon. There are plenty of cheaper alternative that don't spy on you, and even pure RTSP cameras that have no internet connectivity whatsoever that are still cheaper than ring cameras. A decent RTSP camera + Frigate running 100% locally is better than most cameras with AI features. Maybe not ultra high end cameras that have on board AI edge processing capability, but very few people would need that in a home environment.
They couldn't pay me to put a Ring camera in / on my home. I'm really sick of Amazon in general. 99% of the stuff they sell is rebranded garbage from Alibaba, they have no customer support anymore (contact support often just results in deception to get you to hang up the call), their prices are no longer competitive (Walmart has better prices for identical items), they make it as difficult as possible to return anything (nopo more pickups, drop off only). I could go on but we would probably be here all night.
In any case, thank you for bridging more attention to this matter.
