This is hyperbole, the threat isn't AI. The threat is authoritarian religious forces using AI to further fool the masses into working against their best interests.
AI is stupid. You need advanced query logic to make it useful. The threat is that evil men will use AI as an extension of their fallible and evil human tendencies.
