I simply don't respect AI art. Yeah, I guess the end product looks meh. But to me, art is good because I can look at something and go "wow, this person has honed their craft, they're amazing!" I can talk with them about their process. I can follow them on social media and see any future stuff coming out. What work did some AI bro do? Write a paragraph of a prompt only for the product to spit out a soulless image that seems fine on first glance, but has flaws that become noticeable the closer you scrutinize. Blatant flaws that any decent artist would have caught and fixed during the process. This vitriol that the AI bros have towards artists is insane. This idea that artists have "dominated the space for too long" and that with AI, "Anyone can be an artist." Nothing was stopping you from being one! So many artists are self taught! I saw an artist at a convention who I spoke with and it turns out, she was a comp sci major who couldn't get a job but drew for fun on the side. Now she tables and gets a ton of buyers. Why are we bashing hard workers? What is going on?
