I don't think I noticed you make any mention to Ray Kurzweil's forecasts of how he see's humanity as merging with machines and hence he doesn't see any huge existential conflict with them as humanity will become one with AI and machine intelligence.
Maybe this just sounds fanicful but I think it's worth entertaining dince were already expecting the most likwly outcome of AI development to be some sci-fi-level transformation of our planet.
He may be wrong, but I think it's worth exploring the strengths and weaknesses of the argument.
