"Artists use art for inspiration all the time and don't give credit to the original" argument is weak.
It would be like these AI bros would just take the reference images and post them without actually doing the work to create something original.
Also, there are a lot of free programs/tools to make art with. You don't need a fancy tablet, I've been drawing with a mouse for 7+ years (I did eventually get a cheap art tablet, however, which is on its last legs now). A pen and a paper are quite cheap too.
