Schools need to focus on developing the human thinking skills of their students rather than teaching how to take the brainless AI shortcuts which are leading to the dumbing down of our society. Focus on the HUMANities such as reading, writing and mathematical skills without use of a calculator. Kids today are using AI to do their homework but they can’t read or write in cursive or compose a paragraph or figure out a simple calculation. The computers will cause our extinction if we do not have the intelligence to survive and figure things out the old fashioned way if our grid is disabled. Will there be anyone left to rebuild or turn the power back on! Ask your teenager to prepare a can of soup without using the microwave. Or ask them to write a business letter in proper format by hand or to read a novel a write a book report by hand using a paper dictionary or thesaurus. These kids today cannot survive without a phone in their hands or social media! And they are the ones who will lead our species into the future… or unto our EXTINCTION!
