What’s missing in this conversation is that datacenter don’t HAVE to consume water. Even with desktop pcs and water cooling you’re not consuming the water. It’s a closed loop. It’s just that it’s cheaper than having closed loop refrigeration. Plus they could be put away from people, with large solar and wind farms.
