until the software can identify all hazards and not act irregularly leading to harm you'll need people. Thinking cardboard box flies into lane and software needs to know how to respond but in some AI i've seen sometimes unregistered objects can lead to failure. funny sometimes watching software freak out or act weirdly but not funny when potentially deadly outcome can result with too fast a push to put it on the roads.
