Construction jobs are very safe. No robot will be able to replace them for a long time, because the job is too complex, dirty, and unsafe. And having a very short deadline for residential jobs is the cherry on top.
Trade jobs pay well and aren't the worst things ever. I've even seen more woman electricians and plumbers lately. Schools just like to talk shit, because they're trying to push people into academia. Just because people in the late 50s decided that's what we need to do.
Same goes for the office work in contracting. I've seen how it works. It's too complex for an AI to recreate. It can understand what things look like, yeah, but actually creating something that works is something else entirely.
