Some of my thoughts: There are robots. There is robotics. There is automation. None of these can self start or create a trajectory. One can have a debate about what ‘sentience’ means. If we accept it means having: qualia (such as feeling pain, appreciating beauty, seeing blue) feelings and emotions (hunger, tiredness, fear, boredom, anxiety, anger, pity, warmth, wetness) motivations (envy, lust, gluttony, greed, pride, avarice) as well as the ability be reflective (self-aware), and then at this stage we have no idea how to impart any of these things to a machine, nor how a machine could develop them. We do know how to make AI imitate/simulate having these characteristics, but this has no connection with actually having them. In complexity there are three conditions: The innate - that which arises Directly out of Cause and effect (neuroscience) The intrinsic - that which arises directly out of function and form such that function iterates form and form implements function The abstract - that which arises Directly out of the binding Functional appears to be similar to the intrinsic condition (behavior modification). Non functional appears to be similar to changing context, or context manipulation. The defining features of the human condition can all be traced to our ability to stand back from the world, from our selves and from the immediacy of experience. This enables us to plan, to think flexibly and inventively, and, in brief, to take control of the world around us rather than simply respond to it passively. Consciousness is amorphic. Consciousness Is an organic affect found inexpressed in simple creatures at the early onset of orchestrated adaptive changes. Expressing itself in evermore increasing density, Consciousness emerged hierarchically. Dimensionally the assertion is a bidirectional continuum - Delta. Delta : a continuum extending from the infinitely inward to the infinitely outward, or from the infinitely outward to the infinitely inward - given points of view. Once a nation, a faith, or an individual is stripped of its illusions, it becomes paralyzed. Grandeur, prejudice, and delusion are not accidents but fuel I fear. Without them, the machinery stalls. Clarity does not elevate- it corrodes. Hinders one from action. To see oneself without distortion is to touch rot: the absence of myth, the exhaustion of vitality, am I wrong? States decay not because they lie, but because they cease to believe their own lies. Individuals collapse similarly not from ignorance, but from too much knowledge. Success is viral; it feeds on infection, on borrowed fantasies. Life tolerates neither honesty nor distance. Whoever abandons intoxication forfeits virality, and with it the right to function.
