Art is subjective, and I have indeed seen some really beautiful AI art. Now is it derivative, oh entirely possible, but that's really neither here nor there. To me this is a repeat of the music industry running into napster. Artists need to find either a way to make AI work for them or differentiate themselves in ways that AI can't manage. Not sure what those are, but it's here people, and the potential benefits do outweigh the detriments.
The real question this is throwing at artists is why do you make art? Most would say they can't help themselves, it's just an integral part of who they are. Would you stop making art because AI is out there? Should you? Why?
