In many ways, I see a head towards wealth not measured in consumption but in production. As people manage to consume less, they will need to ask each other for things, or do these themselves. You can see it already in minor scales. As it becomes worse and worse, and some people realize there are things we can’t share with each other but ought to buy (such as services, medication and high tech), it might be the tipping point of indignation. There is still a long way to go before we turn into a kind of rioting Amish, and a lot may change before then but I see a certain benefit if everyone learns how to do things despite AI. Even more so because of AI. For now, that is a problem mostly of creative sectors, but soon it won’t be — then AI is managing HRs and analysing fields for plantations, take it as the sign to learn what AI does in your field regardless of what field you are in/consume the most of/need the most, and learn it well, so you won’t be left without it when we turn into Amish or smth.
