This case does highlight the dangers of relying on ChatGPT, but I can't help wondering if they really are as blameworthy as the video presents. It does seem easy for a layperson to mistake ChatGPT for a search engine. Even if the lawyer is expected to track down and read the content of case files they are citing, there is in principle no way to be sure any of the online sources lawyers normally use are faithfully relaying content to them.
