I think a large part of the reason AI turns out the way it does is because of how it's made using the internet for learning. Think about how many political opinions, including horrific, genocidal ones, are online. How many violent stories are online? How many posts talk bad about a certain race or group, which the AI will then see when learning about that group? How about fictional stories that aren't labeled as fictional and contain all sorts of content? How much of the internet is a combination of all those things? If that's what the AI is trained on to form itself, and we don't even know what we fed it, then we're basically just letting it train itself to be a sentient version of the internet. Don't make a sentient version of the internet... we all know how much garbage is on here.
