You talking about inspiration, that idea of 'adding a link on this chain' really hit home for me! I was inspired by your work as a kid and through studying your art and why I found it so appealing, I was able to develop my own distinct style. I don't think an AI can truly replicate a human's artistic touch because we can take an idea and put our own spin on it, pull from multiple reference points *without* just using the art as a dataset and stack of probabilities. Not to sound all hippie but human art just has more, well, humanity. You can see what the artist loves and finds appealing (or the opposite!) which AI just can't do. ETA: Ohhh my god the people who claim AI is more 'accessible' price/disability-wise do my head in!! I, at the tender age of 11, was using school pencils and printer paper to draw and it didn't look too bad! I still use cheap supplies because it's fun and I'm used to 'em. I have a set of colour pencils that cost me about £7 and I swear by 'em!! Also, hi hello disabled person here with chronic joint pain. It does flare up at times, but instead of typing into image generation software, I just take extra care of my wrist joints. Maybe that day I'll do some chunky brush painting which requires less wrist movement, or maybe I just take a day off drawing. It sucks but I'll manage perfectly fine without image generators x
