My problem with AI art, and the reason it's "bad" right now is you cede intentionality and vision over to the machine... But the whole point of art is self-expression. This isn't just a problem with art, it's a problem with "practical" writing as well. Every tool you use cedes some intentionality as you have to work within confines partially dictated by the tool -- but with most applications of generative AI, you cede almost all of your specific intentionality.
