it’s not the tools that are inherently problematic, but how people use them and present their work. If someone microwaves leftovers and sells it as gourmet, it’s not the microwave’s fault. it’s the framing, the marketing, and maybe even the audience’s willingness to accept it. but AI also uses other artists styles and steals it? but then again, don't we as artists do the same? i do, and so do other people, we see something and go "oo! i like that" and use it in our style, although we have our own aspects to the art unlike AI, but AI can piece together different art styles to make their own, the same as some people do, even though they can't add their own aspects. AI and humans use drawing influence from many sources and shape something new from them. the core issue becomes authorship and intent and whether audiences value art for its origin, its result, or both. as the video has said, AI has already started replacing illustrators, writers, even voice actors in some industries, not because it does better work, but because it’s cheaper, faster, and “good enough” for companies that prioritize profit over quality or people. that kind of shift is hard for artists, especially those who rely on commissions or freelance work to survive. but there are always other choices. some artists pivot. some lean into what AI can’t do: tell personal stories, show process, connect emotionally, and build community.
