I don't use tiktok so hearing you speak about it is the first time I have heard about this trend. I have heard of people calling AI clankers which never made sense to me since LLMs have never displayed any real proof of sentience or even actual intelligence. Nevertheless, AI represents a very real existential threat in how the enormous, extremely thirsty and power hungry datacenters needed are currently offsetting all green power progress. All for a glorified, admittedly extremely complex, statistical program whose real usefulness is extremely suspect just considering the lack of selectiveness of the data it is trained on. It has made chatbots very capable of sounding like they know what they are talking about, but that's really it. The result so far is pretty much that it makes humanity as a society erode. And the ones funding it seems to truly think that they will achieve a godlike superintelligence that will solve all our problems without them having to sacrifice the insane capitalist system that they rely upon for their power, the system that is the reason we are in such dire straits in the first place.
