I think therefor I am - is sadly not a proof of conciousness and that is completely what an AI is.
That is what many people consider "themselves" - they identify with their thoughts and likes and dislikes.
Funnily enough no mashine is dangerous, man makes them dangerous :) Because man is mostly unpredictable.
I do feel bad for the "I think therefor I am" state and AI will always lack a soul. Synthesizing a soul seems a bit far fetched.
