the dudes arguing that AI is already conscious fail at the first hurdle of stating what they mean by it.
AI is not conscious nor will ever be unless we can inhabit it temporarily to
confirm!
The problem is that its behavior will convince some humans that they are the same as humans and are therefore conscious.
The solution is to outlaw describing AI as concsious asap.
