Now, Buddha was initially royalty and then died probably not the most poetically dignified death, one account suggested something unflattering like dysentery even, or just some illness that got him in his old age. He died poor. By his own choice. He never used his renown for personal gain, he was content remaining celibate tho he never demanded that anyone be chaste, he merely discouraged "excess". Jesus... Also died poor... Never once using his ministry for personal gain, never sought material wealth or status, and again, preached a ministry he said could be encompassed within the first two commandments...
