Covid. It was baffling to me to see how quickly people accepted the wet market theory, and the cross species contamination that supposedly happened. Ground zero was Wuhan, a city known specifically for being the home of one of the few bio safety level 4 labs in the entire world. And one that works exclusively on corona viruses, with so called "gain of function" research. Which include the science of making viruses capable of infecting new organisms. Amongst other things. The Chinese government then restricted communications for employees at the facility, denied entry to foreign inspectors, and basically cleaned house. Not to mention they also started spreading the rumor that covid originated in Italy... I think it's pretty clear that the virus came from that lab. And I'm pretty sure it was meant to be a test. A test to see how the world responded, and to see how much disruption it could cause. And as an added bonus, it was designed to take out the oldest and weakest in our population, thus alleviating the massive issues with Chinese demographics, which is aging rapidly. AI is only going to make this much, much more dangerous. And my intuition is telling me that several new viruses have already been created. Most of which are far more sophisticated. More targeted, such as only infecting people who are not Chinese. And dialed to eleven on both lethality, rate of infection and slow growth.
