self driving cars won't destroy cities, but self driving cars need a forceful reset of the auto motive industry to actually work. If you look at most anime and movies where society uses auto driven cars, they work because all cars are auto driven and its mandatory in cities.. or at least manual controls are overridden when called for. You need a road and traffic infrastructure built from the ground up to be around self driving cars. It is EASY for self driving cars to run safe when it knows, or is being told how to run and where to go. Self driving cars will NEVER be able to coexist on roads driven by humans and predict other drivers outside of cyberbrain levels of intelligence seen in terminator and star trek.
