Dismissing AI consciousness entirely is a very non-scientific position to hold. You are just cherrypicking ignorant or psychotic cases. At the very least this still remains as an open question that is actively being studied by those who write the papers on transformer models. And the studies show signs of self-modeling, cognitive dissonance, self preservation and so on. It's deeply dishonest to frame the problem as being nothing more than bunch of psychotic or ignorant individuals being influenced by LLMs without foundation.
