Pondering all the cockups with wrong addresses, warehouses, billing, locked gates, load refusals... Sure, the trucks can drive between the idiots at both ends alone. Does it sit there until fetched?
You going to have offices all over to sort every snafu? Check every load they pick up for safety? Shipping damage? You know every trailer is going to need cameras, tire monitoring, and brake temp feedback. Sure, it can pull over with a flat, now what? At least they'll be able to automate freight theft and smuggling.
Not totally against automation. Be handy to have an easy section of road and be able to spend an hour sorting paperwork and arranging out what's next. Verifying drops, checking a view of the yard and surrounding streets. Return calls... Turning the wheel left and right really isn't the entire job.
