in my high school this year, there was a sophomore boy who used photos from sophomore girls’ social media to make deepfakes. it was rumored that he had a group chat with other boys, sharing the deepfakes and doing requests. i think parents of victims attempted to press charges but thats all i know. i think he got expelled because it went silent a week after the incident. but, i srsly won’t forget that day, everyone checking their phones because we didn’t know if it had spread to other grades, and my sister (who was a sophomore) texting me that girls were sobbing and getting pulled out of classes left and right.
i graduated this year, and luckily, my sister is going to a different high school. none of the other boys were caught.
