There's no such thing as AI. The future the transformer neural network hype is promising is the most obviously ridiculous pipedream ever. The fact that people and governments have spent so much money on this blatant huxterism is utterly unforgivable. The sales pitch is literally "Why don't we spend trillions of dollars to make everything worse and less productive? The computer can spit out statistically average word salad and make vidya, right? Isn't that the same as what people do?".
The people buying into this are ignorant rubes, but the people selling it are even stupider.
