This doomerism just fuels the endless hype chain that is the current AI grift.
We have a tendency to aggressively anthropomorphize everything we see, ascribing purpose (no matter how basic or limited) to functions and expecting human reasoning to be underlying it.
It's nearly impossible to even imagine code replicating the seemingly rote decision-making, or "brain", of a flea, much less that of a person.
