It reminds me of the trend ''art is work'' during the pandemic, when artists suddenly realized their profession is not really essential for survival and they had to keep repeating that phrase to reinforce it in everyone's head. Art has always been a struggle, risky , competitive and a privilege , for those who make it and for those who buy it. So if you're an artist, be an artist and stop whining. Even without Ai , there are stock image sites with millions of images , other sites that have some other millions of images totally free to use , people on Fiverr and other places who make art and graphic design for 20 bucks .If the whole value of your art is in the image you produce, sorry, you've always been a printer for someone else's ideas.
