The Cartesian skepticism of the external world if applied for AI entails a kind of skepticism of AI as being out there in the world where we prompt and get answers. It may be some other feature of reality that is a reconstruction human society from the inside of modernity qua the extended mind through technology that is not out there like mountains or rivers. The extended mind through classic print media could be controlled by elites but as the mind extends it might extend into what is termed the 'problem of other minds' qua parallel universes.
